Understanding Your Treatment Options
Your Consultant will carry out a detailed fertility assessment and discuss your goals before recommending a treatment plan tailored to you. Depending on the results of your assessment, treatment may involve donor sperm and either:
- IUI (Artificial Insemination), where prepared donor sperm is placed directly into the uterus during ovulation.
- IVF, where the ovaries are stimulated and eggs are collected during a simple procedure. The eggs are then fertilised with donor sperm in the laboratory to create embryos. One embryo is then transferred to the uterus.

Choosing a sperm donor is a very personal decision, and our team is here to support you throughout the process.
Beacon CARE Fertility is partnered with the European Sperm Bank, one of Europe’s leading donor sperm banks. Patients can browse donor profiles and select a donor that feels right for them, with guidance available from our clinical and laboratory teams whenever needed.
The European Sperm Bank is known for its rigorous donor screening programme. All donors undergo extensive medical, genetic and infectious disease screening in accordance with European standards. This thorough approach helps to ensure the highest levels of safety and quality.
Egg Freezing
If you are considering having a baby at some point in the future, Egg Freezing at Beacon CARE Fertility can help preserve your fertility and provide greater flexibility around when you choose to start a family.
We are the first, and currently the only, clinic in Ireland to offer Egg Freezing with Artificial Intelligence (AI).
This non-invasive imaging technology helps assess the quality of your eggs and provides insight into their potential to achieve key milestones in the future, including the possibility of having a baby from your frozen eggs.
We are also one of the few clinics in Ireland to use the Open System method for Egg Freezing. This approach is widely considered one of the most advanced cryopreservation techniques available worldwide.
